Driver of the Year Competition
Peak Performance's unique Driver of the Year competition enables a business specific process to be created, allowing any number of employees to take part using initially an internet assessment, followed by a day at MIRA for the finalists from which the Driver of the Year will be selected.
This is a positive method for a company to raise the profile of its safe driving culture and involve all employees within the process. The various stages of the Driver of the Year competition are detailed below.
Step 1
The first stage of the competition involves Peak Performance creating an Internet web page from which your drivers can register then complete the next 4 rounds.
Step 2
Drivers register via the web site and are given an introduction to the competition and what they are required to do moving forwards. They are then required to complete a set of questions relating to the task of driving.
Step 3
Every month for the next 4 months there will be a new set of questions on the website, like in the previous round drivers visit the website and answer the questions accordingly.
Step 4
Once these rounds have been completed, points are deducted for speeding convictions, accidents, tachograph offences etc accrued during the competition. (Please note all drivers' start with a clean sheet and any current points on their licence do not count)
Step 5
At the end of these 4 rounds the top 20 drivers will receive a 1-hour assessment by a Peak Performance Management trainer.
Step 6
From these assessments the top 10 drivers will be selected.
Step 7
The top 10 drivers visit the Motor Industry Research Institute (MIRA) in Leicestershire, where over the day they take part in a variety of exercises.
MIRA is a high-tech, 400-acre proving ground used by Ford, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and World Rally Championship teams to develop their cars.
